Foundation and Beginner Classes

Intro to Performance Agility I introduces your puppy/young dog for agility and is open to dogs 6 months or older. This course prepares your dog for the sport of agility with confidence building, building drive, impulse control games, pre-obstacle games, handler-focused games and verbal cue introduction.
Pre-requisite – Puppy obedience classes or instructor evaluation.

Intro to Performance Agility 2 will prepare young dogs for agility and is open to dogs 6 months or older. This course continues to prepare your dog for the sport of agility with confidence building, building drive, impulse control games, pre-obstacle games, handler-focused games, introduction to tunnels and reinforcing verbal cues.
Pre-requisite: Intro to Performance Agility 1 class.

This special 6-week Agility Connection Class is designed for handlers whose dogs go off course, lose focus, or become overstimulated in the agility environment.
This class is ideal for dogs who:
- Drift away during sequences
- Get overly excited in the ring
- Struggle to stay engaged with their handler
- Need stronger emotional regulation around equipment, motion, or other dogs
What you’ll learn:
- Techniques for maintaining connection before, during, and after obstacles
- Reinforcement strategies to keep your dog motivated and tuned in
- Practical ways to reduce overstimulation and build thoughtful behavior
- Handler skills to create consistency, clarity, and confidence on course
Whether your dog is new to agility or already competing, this class will help you build a stronger, more reliable working partnership—one based on trust, attention, and joy.

Foundation is the key to success in agility. This course will focus on building onto the foundation and skills learned in the Intro to Performance Agility classes. Building drive and creating attention games to keep your dogs attention while on course. Agility equipment familiarization (low contact equipment).
Pre-requisite: Puppy Performance or evaluation. – open to dogs +6 months of age.

Agility for beginners is a continuation of the foundation class with additional emphasis on foundation work, weave pole and contact equipment continuation. Small sequences up to 10-15 obstacles.
Pre-requisite – Agility Level 1 Foundation – open to dogs + 9 months of age
Beyond Foundations
Instructors: Anne Riba and Andy Winther
Focus on course work, handling choices and techniques. Mastering efficient turns and wraps. Full courses and drills.
Pre-requisite – Agility Level 2- Beginners. Open to dogs +12 months of age.
Instructors: Anne Riba, Jeff Botelho or Andy Winther
Competition agility – focus on building confidence, drive and advanced handling techniques.
Pre-requisite Agility Level 3- Intermediate. Open to dogs +18 months of age.
Instructors: Anne Riba and Andy Winther
Competition Premier/International agility. Emphasis on international agility course work and advanced handling skills. Building the mental game and confidence to be successfully competing on the international and premier levels.
Pre-requisite Level 4 competition. Open to dogs +2 years of age.
